How to Make the Most of Your Invisalign Treatment
Are you all set to get your Invisalign® treatment? You’re about to embark on the quest for the smile you’ve always dreamed of.
Here at K Street Dental & Orthodontic Group, we’re professionally trained in Invisalign and ready to help you have the best experience possible. Our team looks forward to seeing your successful results as much as you do.
Invisalign clear aligners have become such a popular option for straightening teeth because of their appeal. Not only do people hardly notice you’re wearing them, but you don’t have to worry about the discomfort of wires, metal brackets, and rubber bands.
Though your Invisalign clear aligners shift your teeth into the desired positioning, you play an active role from the start.
Here are some important ways to get the results you want with Invisalign.
Follow your plan
With Invisalign, you wear the aligner trays for a week or two, depending on your treatment plan, and then change to the next set of trays. We give you specific instructions on when to move to the next set.
Keep your scheduled follow-up appointments so we can monitor your progress and keep you on track with your plan.
Stay committed to the process
To get the results you’re looking for, wear your clear aligners 20-22 hours every day. You can remove them when you eat and when you clean your teeth (and aligners). Otherwise, wear the aligners at all times for optimal success.
Take care of your teeth and gums
When you practice good oral hygiene, you keep your teeth free of particles that can get trapped between your teeth. Debris invites bacteria, which can turn into plaque and cause oral health issues.
After you brush and floss, pop your Invisalign aligners back in until your next meal or cleaning.
Don’t allow stains
When you wear your aligners, stick to just drinking water. If you try to sneak in a cup of coffee, a glass of tea, or even sugary drinks, the liquid can seep underneath your trays, staining your aligners and your teeth. It also wreaks havoc on your oral health.
Treat your trays well
Just as you care for your oral health, you need to keep your aligners clean. The process is easy. Simply remove them, rinse them, and brush them with a soft toothbrush.
Before you begin your Invisalign treatment, we provide instructions to help you through the process. That way, you can make sure you’re making the most of your treatment.
